The fLAWless Law Roach
Law Roach has inspired me to become a fashion stylist, and his work is where my motivation stems from. I love what he stands for, what he has achieved, and what he continues to do. The work of Law has been on my radar since 2019, and I have become more in love with fashion. I have gained knowledge about inclusivity, fashion history, and people of color in the industry from listening to his experiences and outlooks on those matters. One influence that amazes me about Law is how he uses his voice and platform to be a part of making a difference and breaking down barriers, not only in the fashion industry but in other aspects. He shines the light on things that are important to the world and himself.
Law Roach is a stylist who is best known as the 'Image Architect'. He always starts conversations about the looks he creates for these fashion icons, and he always will. Law grew up in Southside Chicago and from there his fashion career started as a vintage buyer, where he collected second-hand and vintage pieces. Law founded Deliciously Vintage located in both Harlem and Chicago, where he started building his brand and gained recognition. As a result, he has worked with several clients, including Celine Dion, Kerry Washington, Zendaya, Anya Taylor Joy, and many others. With passion, confidence, and a dream, Law Roach proves that anything is possible. Becoming successful in this industry requires hard work and perseverance; you have to do it for the right reasons. The year of 2020 caused setbacks for the world but the major occurrences that took place were African Americans being killed and the protests against police brutality and systemic racism. Government officials and media outlets changed the focus towards the looting and rioting. Roach was not afraid to use his voice and he wanted to put his efforts and time towards making change. To show his support, Law partnered with 'Rebuild the Hood' and started a fund called the 'fLawless Fundraiser' to help rebuild black fashion and beauty businesses in Chicago that were impacted during the protest against police brutality and inequality. As a result, he reached his goal of $100,000. In my observation, Roach has consistently promoted diversity, inclusion, and equality throughout his career.
