Trend Transition

How do you feel about changing your style because of new and emerging fashion trends? In my earlier teenage years, being in middle school and new to highschool, I found myself always trying to keep up with fashion trends to feel admired. I am a shy, introverted, and reserved person. I wanted to come out of that shell, to fit in with others. I never had that many friends and I was always afraid to be myself. I didn’t feel accepted for being myself, so I found comfort in being someone else. Fashion is about experimenting and being creative but I wasn't doing it for those reasons. I stayed on top of fashion trends to feel included. Back then the chokers, faux fur slides, and Alex and Ani bracelets, were the popular trends for my age group through the end of my time in middle school. My uniform was very simplistic, I would wear a solid color or patterned top with denim jeans. Once I went through a transition of changing my style, I dressed based on my personal taste rather than choosing a style that wasn’t me. What’s your story of changing your style, was it because of fashion trends, to build a connection with others, or something else?

Fashion constantly changes over periods of time. Even the least fashionable person you know, is likely still influenced by fashion. For other people it's important to have the latest fashion. There are different reasons why people decide to change their wardrobe to the most popular items. Some reasons could be because they want to change their style, someone following a new style, or from the media. Trends in 2020 was dedicated to wearing Y2K styles. What will be the new trends in 2021?  Fashion tends to bring new trends and even past trends back. What was one of the best fashion trends you've ever been a part of?
